When you commission your own artwork, the process begins with a conversation. Ideally, this takes place in your home or business so I can see where the artwork will live, understand the space, and get a feel for your style and colour preferences. If an in-person visit isn’t possible, we can chat via Zoom instead.
This initial discussion helps shape the direction of your painting, whether it’s inspired by a favourite place, a special memory, or simply colours that make you feel good. The aim is always to create a piece that feels personal and thoughtfully considered.

Can you paint from photographs? Yes. Many of my commissioned paintings begin with one or several photographs supplied by my clients. These help me capture the essence of a special place while creating an original oil painting inspired by your images rather than simply copying them.

How long does a commissioned painting take? Most commissions take several weeks, depending on the size of the artwork and my current schedule. I'll always give you an estimated completion date and keep you updated with progress along the way.
