Art Workshops for Health and Wellbeing

Art Workshops for Health and Wellbeing logo

The creativity you experience during my art workshops for health and wellbeing will definitely help you to feel a sense of freedom and energy.

At Minnie La La Designs I believe now, more than ever before, we need to look after ourselves.
Spending time being creative is incredibly powerful. Combine this with heading into the great outdoors and your health and wellbeing will flourish.

Being outdoors is linked to reducing stress, improving mood, increasing creativity, boosting immunity, and providing a greater sense of connection with yourself as well as  the natural world.
Being outside also encourages physical activity, it benefits every part of your being and the
best thing is, it is F R E E!

"Painters understand nature and love her and teach us to see"

How do art workshops for health and wellbeing work?

I am a self-taught artist and I will share my process with you, helping to dispel the 'Big Blank Scary Canvas' myth.

Everyone creates their very own canvas and is given the opportunity to unleash their creativity through art. They then experience first hand just how beneficial art can be for one's health and wellbeing.

I am passionate about creating a safe environment where everybody is given the freedom to explore their creativity, without judgement or expectation.

It does not matter if you have not picked up a paintbrush since school,  the workshop is about the 'process', not the end result.

At my art workshops for health and wellbeing you will find yourself succumbing to the 'flow'. Being in the 'flow' refers to the state of complete concentration and engagement in an activity, where one loses track of time and is completely absorbed in what they are doing. Think of it as being a state of mindfulness, for example. This state often leads to a sense of deep satisfaction and fulfilment, as well as improved performance and productivity. Many people report to experiencing heightened creativity, learning and enjoyment when they are in the flow.

I am also available for private events, please drop me a line to find out more.

  • I want to commission a piece of art as a surprise gift, can you help?
Oh yes, I love surprises. We will work together in top secret to ensure the commissioned piece reflects your recipient's taste, personality and their special occasion.
  • How much will my commissioned piece of art cost?
The price depends on the size of the piece you require. As a guideline, 10 x 14 inches = approx. £300; 30 x40 inches = approx. £80.
  • I would like to commission a piece of art, but I'm not sure exactly what I want yet, can you help?
Yes, of course. Let's meet, either in person or via Face Time. We can have a good chat over a coffee where I will discover your likes and dislikes, a little about your personality and the reasons why you would like to have a unique piece of artwork for your home or business. My art always reflects the recipient, so this is a vital part of the process. By the end of our conversation I am confident we will establish a path for me to follow when creating your commissioned art piece and you will be delighted with the end results.
  • Is there a minimum size required when ordering commissioned art?
Not at all, you can order any size to meet the space you have available in your home and business.
  • Do you deliver?
Yes. For commissions in my local area I deliver, because I love to see my client's reaction to their finished piece in person. For deliveries further afield I use a reliable courier service.
  • I would like certain colours so the art blends in with my décor, is this possible?
Absolutely! I like to meet all my clients in their homes or workspace, either in person or via a FaceTime call. We will discuss where the commission will be displayed, the colours you would like reflected in your final piece and what you would like your art piece to reflect, - for example, a birthday, anniversary or achievement. So, pop the kettle on and I'll be there!
  • How much does a workshop cost?
Prices start at £200 for a half day and £300 for a full day plus £15pp. This price includes all equipment and refreshments. I also offer luxury and V.I.P. packages too. Please click HERE for the full details of each option.
  • We have a large workforce, how can you accommodate us?
Whilst, in an ideal world, it is lovely to have the whole team together, this can have a negative effect on the healing powers of the process. That is why I limit the numbers to between 4 - 8 individuals (10 would be the absolute maximum). Consider dividing your workforce into natural teams that already work together (to strengthen their bond) or into groups of people you believe would benefit from mixing together in a new task, (i.e. those that will bring the best out of each other).
  • How will a workshop benefit my team?
My workshops give your team a chance to step away from the office and work concerns. By focusing on something creative, they can lower their stress and find inner peace. This helps quiet their minds, leaving them refreshed and ready to tackle work with clear vision and fresh energy. Team members will also learn more about each other—things they may not have known before. Friendships can form, and stronger connections within the team can boost productivity. The benefits don’t end when the workshop does. My goal is to provide tools that help your team manage stress and prevent burnout, even when I’m not there.
  • Do you provide all the equipment needed?
Yes, I bring everything with me, including the paints and individual canvases, of course.
  • We don't have a suitable space to hold the workshop, what are the alternatives?
This is not a problem I can hire a venue, convenient to your location, for the workshop. Of course, my luxury and V.I.P. packages incorporate a visit to my studio, a perfect alternative that includes a pub lunch! See HERE for full details.
  • How does the workshop work?
The structure of the workshops depends on the one you choose. For the 2-hour session, we’ll begin with mindful activities and breathing exercises to help you settle in. Then, we dive right into painting on individual canvases using acrylics, drawing inspiration from nature. The half-day workshop includes simple outdoor activities to connect with nature. Depending on the weather and space, we might also do some drawing exercises. After that, we’ll warm up our creativity with fun, easy drawing tasks (nothing intimidating!). Finally, we’ll move on to painting our canvases. You can also find out more about what to expect at an art workshop here.
  • Do you provide refreshments?
Yes, I provide refreshments for your corporate wellbeing workshop. Of course, if you choose a luxury or V.I.P. option the price includes a 2 course pub lunch too! See HERE for details.
  • Will you travel to hold a workshop?
Yes, within a reasonable travel distance and time, however I would need to add a fuel expense charge.
  • Do you have any art qualifications?
I didn't attend art college or study at university, my art comes from my heart and I learned everything at the school of life! Please read my ABOUT ME page to learn more about my passion and my inspirations.
  • How much do you charge for your art commissions?
This is very dependent on the size and time taken to create your unique piece of art. A 30 x 40ich piece of commissioned art usually retails for approximately £800.00
  • Where are you based?
    Monmouthshire, South Wales, U.K.
  • How do I book a workshop?
I run a series of different workshops: For Corporate wellbeing workshops, please find full details HERE For Educational health and wellbeing workshops, please find full details HERE And for all other workshop enquires, please get in touch HERE for a chat, we can discuss your needs and take it from there 😊.
  • Where do you hold your art workshops?
Naturally I hold some of my art workshops at my studio in Monmouthshire. In addition to this, I also hold workshops at different venues and festivals. To see the full list of my upcoming workshops please click HERE.
  • We want to book a painting party but there are 10 of us, is this possible?
Yes that’s fine. Painting parties work a little differently to my health and wellbeing workshops. - more people is ok as you’re already in a party mood instead of a mindful one!! We are aiming to have fun!
  • Do we need to bring anything with us for your painting parties?
Wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on(the paint will wash off but just to be safe), and bring your curiosity! You can find out more about what to expect at an art workshop here.
  • Do you have to be an artist to book a painting party?
No, no, no, no - definitely not - everyone is creative - it’s about having a go.
  • Do your painting parties include food as well as drinks?
Yes - I supply some fizz/ soft drinks and nibbles, who doesn't love nibbles?!
  • We want to book a painting party for a special occasion, can we decorate your studio with balloons and banners?
Yes of course, that sounds great. The only thing I wouldn't recommend bringing is table confetti as this could interfere with the canvas painting.
  • Are your Educational health and Wellbeing workshops just for children or do you run them for teaching staff too?
We all know that the health and wellbeing of our educational teams and students is a top priority. Therefore my educational health and wellbeing workshops are aimed at both the teaching staff and students, though naturally the approach for each is very different.
  • How many participants do you allow per session?
I like to ensure I am able to give every participant equal attention and guidance where needed. Therefore I suggest between 4-12 participants to each session. I can stretch to 15 where essential, anything beyond this and the workshop experience becomes diluted.
  • Are you a qualified teacher?
No. I am not a ‘qualified’ teacher, however I have years of experience teaching not only art/creative play but also drama, including Summer Shakespeare workshops.
  • Do you provide all the equipment?
Yes Everything is included in the price. Click here for a full list of packages.
  • What format does your Educational Health and Wellbeing workshop take?
It’s hands-on - everyone is given the opportunity to explore with painting acrylics onto a canvas, using nature as our inspiration. For full information about what to expect at an art workshop please click here.
  • Are you DBS checked?
Absolutely. Please contact me if you would like a copy of my certificate.
  • Can I book you to do a health and wellbeing workshop for my retreat?
Absolutely, I'd love to work with you. Have a look at my Wellness and Art Workshops here. If you can’t find what you are looking from this selection, I’m happy to discuss creating your own bespoke package to suit your needs. Please contact me here to have a chat.
  • Are the health and wellbeing workshops held outside or inside?
Either - depending on the weather - I usually begin my workshops outside to allow some time to slow down, leave the chaos of the outside world behind you, and connect with nature. I create a warm, inviting environment - it’s calming and mindful. If the weather conditions are not great, I'll bring a little of the outside in and still ensure we start with some time to reconnect with ourselves.
  • I am not very artistic, does that matter?
Not at all - my workshops are about the process rather than the end result. I am passionate about helping others connect with their own creative intuition rather than copying a step-by-step, paint-by-numbers session - it’s about connection to yourself - allowing yourself the time to play with creativity without judgment.
  • Do you supply all the equipment needed?
Yes I do - everything is included in the price. For full information about what to expect at an art workshop please click here.
  • Do you have a set number of people who can attend one of your art workshops?
I try to keep the sessions smaller rather than bigger to create a more intimate feel and so I can share my support to everybody equally. Therefore, my art workshops for health and wellbeing are for between 4 and 12 people.
