Real Art Paintings: The Truth Behind Their Authentic Beauty

"Stop the world, I want to get off!" Now, that's not just the title of a classic 60s musical; it's how many people feel living in our crazy era of fast-paced digital developments and political mayhem. And that's why countless others and I turn to the arts for a moment of escapism. Personally, I love real art paintings, both creating them and observing them, because they offer me moments of calm that are irreplaceable.

What do I mean by that? Well, as a society, we are surrounded by mass-produced prints and algorithm-generated designs. Consequently, appreciation of art can be diluted, and it is easy to forget what true, handcrafted art feels like. I truly believe that real art paintings offer something entirely different in a space. They offer emotion, texture, and a genuine human story that cannot be replicated.

For me, creating and sharing original art isn't just about aesthetics; it's about connection, expression, and bringing something meaningful into people's lives.

What Makes Real Art Paintings Truly Authentic?

At their heart, real art paintings are created entirely by hand, shaped by energy, passion and moments in time. No two are ever exactly the same, and that's precisely where the beauty lies.

Unlike prints or digital reproductions, paintings are original and one-of-a-kind. They contain visible texture and layered detail. They reflect the artist's personal process and emotion, and they evolve naturally, rather than being mechanically produced.

When you look closely at a real painting, you’re not just seeing an image. You are seeing decisions, changes, and moments captured in paint. Now this isn't just my opinion as a passionate artist, it's a fact. Have you ever watched BBC One's 'Fake or Fortune'? Using technology, they can uncover different layers within a painting. We can see moments in time when the artist changed their composition, colour choices, and even entire paintings. It's amazing!

Why Do Real Art Paintings Feel So Different?

I believe the reason people are naturally drawn to real, authentic pieces of art is that the pieces feel so alive.

Whilst a print can decorate a wall, a real painting transforms a space. It creates atmosphere, adds depth, and often becomes a focal point that people return to time and again. Original art invites emotion and interpretation. Pieces change subtly depending on light and perspective. Additionally, art can create a sense of individuality in your home and develop a meaning, personal to you, that grows over time.

The Passion Behind Original Pieces of Art: My

Process

Creating a unique painting is not a linear process for artists, and that's what makes it so exciting.

Every piece I work on begins with a feeling. Sometimes it's inspired by my surroundings (I'm so lucky to live in Monmouthshire, it's beautiful), sometimes my mood, sometimes by colour, and sometimes by a completely abstract idea that develops as I paint. There's no exact formula, just a deep connection to the process and the flow.

As I build each painting, I layer colours to create movement and depth. I step back often, allowing the piece to evolve naturally. I embrace imperfections, as frustrating as they are, because often they lead to the most interesting outcomes. Finally, I refine details until the painting feels complete, not just visually, but emotionally. And that is an important point, because art, and creating art, is very powerful, a source of great healing, especially for me.

What I love most about creating real art paintings is that each one has its own journey. No two pieces unfold the same way, and that unpredictability is where the magic happens.

How To Choose Real Art Paintings For Your Home

If you are passionate about paintings and want to experience the joy that an original piece of art can bring to your life, then maybe it's time to invest. However, choosing the right piece for you should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Perhaps the most important point to remember is that it is not just about matching colours to your current scheme, it's about how a painting makes you feel when you see it.

Here are a few pointers to help you through this process:

Follow Your Instinct

If you are immediately drawn to a piece of art, then there is usually a reason for it. Paintings are meant to connect with you on a personal level, so follow your gut.

Think About The Space

Do you have a room in mind? Consider the size, lighting, and overall ambience. Don't be afraid to choose something that stands out.

Embrace Originality

I know I keep banging on about it, but one of the most wonderful things about real art paintings is their uniqueness. You are bringing something into your space that no one else has. That's fantastic!

Connect With The Artist

Forming a connection with the artist, understanding their story or process, adds another layer to the meaning of each piece they create. It turns the artwork into something far more personal.

Why Does Investing in Real Art Paintings Matter?

Will your real art paintings be worth a fortune in the future? It's very unlikely. Research suggests that for every 100 pieces of emerging artwork, only 10 will hold or grow in value. The exception to this rule is pieces of art by famous artists like Picasso and Warhol. However, in addition to supporting creativity, craftsmanship, and individuality, you will be investing in something that will last. You'll be adding authenticity to your home and owning a piece with emotional and artistic value.

In many ways, investing in art is like adding a chapter to your own life story. The art is with you for everyday moments, quiet reflections, and everything in between. Even if it doesn't rise in monetary value, it will become a piece of your family's history to pass on to the next generation.

Bringing some joy to your life

As someone deeply passionate about creating paintings, my goal is always to produce work that feels joyous, expressive, and full of life. The strapline of my business is, "Hang some happiness on your walls."

I believe art should do more than just fill a space; it should elevate it, reflect your personality, and create a connection every time you see it.

Have I Convinced You?

So, do you agree with me? Have I revealed the truth behind the beauty of real art paintings? I believe they hold a kind of beauty that goes far beyond what you see on the surface. They represent time, care, and human expression in its purest form.

Remember, by choosing real art paintings, you’re choosing something authentic in a world that often isn’t, and that, in itself, is incredibly powerful.
